Expediting your approval process?

Hi all!

 

How easy is it to expedite the USCIS approval process for an I-129? I know there is a specific criteria but are they pretty strict with it? Do you have to have a good case?

What reason would you be using to try?

 

They have a pretty set standard as noted, each case is unique though so maybe some consideration will be taken into account. All the same really to expedite you have to for each stage. Just expediting USCIS doesn't expedite NVC and the embassy also.

Normally, yes, they are strict in that you must fit their criteria for an expedite----mind sharing what reason(s) you have for the expedite so members can try to help you with proving your case?

Well it would depend. One of the criteria options is labelled "Emergency Situation". What exactly does that entail?

Pretty extreme circumstances.....some specifics would help.

 

Again has to be pretty harsh conditions because if it weren't, everyone would be expediting for every little reason.

Medical reasons, near-death, extreme financial loss, etc.

 

Without more details from you, hard to give proper advice.

"It would depend?" 

You either have a base for expedite or not. And yes, they are extremely strict about.  They don't give expedites for frivolous reasons.

If you feel you meet the criteria, you can request an expedite.

They are pretty strict.

What qualifies as an emergency to you usually does not qualify as an emergency to an IO or the US Government. Things like literal war, terrorism, genocide, discriminatory violence (race/religion/ethnicity/etc.), etc. are typically emergency conditions. Sometimes less extreme examples apply, but still what many would call an emergency.

Yeah you need to have like a near death situation or the USC would be deployed in the US forces or something pretty extreme. They don’t just give them out to whoever for whatever. Don’t try to expedite because you have to travel somewhere or because you miss your significant other. Everyone goes through the wait and unless you have a valid emergency reason it’s not gonna work.

There are people who actually qualify for those expedites. If you don't but try to expedite, you are taking away the attention to the serious cases because you are too inpatient to await the regular process. That's how it sounds right now to me, to us. You haven't given us any information if you actually qualify, it just sounds like you don't want to go through the whole process like everybody else.

You seem to have somewhat answered your own question. There is criteria for a reason - I would review the criteria and if you feel you meet any of it, then go ahead and request an expedite. No one here can ultimately say whether you definitely will or will not be expedited, but as many others have said - without much detail about your situation, the responses will likely remain just as vague. Understanding you may not wish to share personal details, that's still a factor.

Process is easy. You call and make expedite request under one of the criteria. If it’s not immediately denied they will ask for supporting documents. Documents will be reviewed and final decision made. 

 

Criteria are pretty straightforward, you have to evaluate your case first. Asking “how easy is to expedite” is rubbing other members wrong way.

Immigration is for the patient. And even for the patient, they may need to redefine their own limit to patience.
