I know. Going to be a job in itself. Is this something we should do before filing ?  Any idea what the process is like for back filing for US taxes? 😖😖

Yeah, returns for all prior years, pay tax owed plus fees, fines and penalties

you need a trained tax preparer, not h&r block, turbo tax or any of them.

start as soon as possible, might be able to get some fees and penalties waived but have to file first

Hi. I've posted on here a while back. My husband and I have finally received are marriage certificate and are ready to file. My husband is American but is moving back to Florida before winter hits here in canada. Is it ok that we file the application when he is still living here in Canada with me ?  Thanks

True! Thank you!!

he actually was born in Canada. He lived in Florida for a year or two with his dad to get his citizenship a while back. His dad is American. He lives near Daytona. A place called satsuma. So we are planning to go to Daytona.

You dont have to wait on the taxes to file the I-130.  That info wont be needed for about 10 months or more. Lots of time.
