My wife's POE was DFW- Dallas......No problems.

Booking a round trip ticket will not cause any issues at all.

What is the best POE and for some reason it is cheaper to book round trip tickets instead of a one way. Would that raise a potential flag to the boarder patrol thinking they don't intend to stay in the US?

Don't be so concerned about POE.  Everything will be fine.  Regarding airline tickets, roundtrips are almost always cheaper than one way.  There will be no potential flags raised because of roundtrip tickets.  To save on airfare costs, try a Monday through Thursday departure and same for the return portion of the roundtrip ticket.  Also, look at the return portion to come back off season such as during Feb or March to get lowest fares (if you are looking to cancel return portion of ticket).  If a future return trip is a possibility, you can get a return date up to 330 days out from the time you purchase the ticket.  Even from my wife's first POE, we have always purchased and used roundtrip ticket from Kiev to USA as the airfares are typically few hundred dollars less than purchasing roundtrip tickets from USA to Kiev.  Compare airline ticket prices against other sites such as Orbitz.  Often Orbitz had better prices than on the airline website. Just something to keep in mind.   Good luck!

As far as a POE, my wife and I will be flying into Miami International, We are leaving Odessa Ukraine on the 24th. I just purchased her airline tickets last night. I normally fly Turkish Airlines when I come over. This season the airfare has been almost double what the cost was last year. I just spent $1400 on her one way ticket, a round trip would have been more no matter how far I put the return date out.

As other members have said, shop around for the best airfare price, I like Turkish Airlines because there is only one transfer at Istanbul airport to miami, If we went a different airline to get back to Tamp florida, we have to take 3 planes....... too long for me!

I know what you mean!  We are flying into Miami at end of month from Kiev just to try something different.  We normally fly into Ft. Myers, but that's always 3 flights and about 24-26 hours door to door.  Airfares have gone up and I'm constantly looking for better prices.  Usually buy tickets many months in advance.  I think your ticket is so high because you purchased less than 4 weeks prior to leaving.  We are spending average $1400-$1500 round trip for the both of us together.  Good Luck to you!

thank you, same to you!

Actually, I bought my round trip ticket at the beginning of may and left Florida June 20th,  the round trip price was $1381.

The last 4 trips have always been around 700-900 for a round trip from Miami to Odessa, it is crazy!

Good luck, I hope you can find a cheaper flight

The flights aren’t obscenely expensive but I’m a penny pincher haha. He’s leaving from Moscow and it’s just weird to me that a one way flight is more expensive than a round trip. They always are but it’s about 900 which isn’t bad! We haven’t booked a flight yet but he got his visa in hand today so we will book by the end of the week!
