Hey folks, I'm new here so I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but I'm just curious how long it took you guys to get your interview appointment? Did they email you the date or was it sent via snail mail?

Our paperwork has officially been approved by the NVC for two weeks and we're waiting to hear when our appointment date is at the US embassy in Montreal.

Thanks for any help that you could give!

Your best resource will be the immigration timelines! You can search for your particular visa. You can even filter for your filing office. That will connect you to other people with similar filing times and locations. I've found it very helpful (and cathartic!). :)

Wishing all of your luck on your immigration journeys.

For my husband's IR1 through Montreal, we sent in our AOS documents on Jan 23, 2018, received notification of completion from NVC on February 14, 2018 AND got our interview appointment that same day via email for an interview on March 21, 2018.

My case reached MTL on May 30th, 2018. Had to wait two weeks for Packet 3. Sent it back same day. Received Packet 4 yesterday so that took 4 days and registered to make an appt but there are none available. Last I read a few weeks ago they were only booking Wednesdays and they were booking starting July second week (nothing earlier). So I would imagine by now that they are only booking interviews for August.

Did they email you the date or was it sent via snail mail? Neither. You register for one and they confirm it. They email the beneficiary P3 and snail mail the beneficiary P3 (which you email your required documents back to them) and then they email the beneficiary the P4. It is imperative you give the NVC the beneficiary's email address though NOW so that they can contact you. If you don't you will have to wait for P3 to come in the mail. The petitioner is no longer contacted at all after they receive the NOA2.
