RFE Response Times?

3 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

My fiancee is a Canadian citizen - we filed for a K-1 visa and received our first NOA on November 6, 2017. Last month, we received a Request for Evidence, which was received by USCIS on May 24, 2018. The information they requested was a new passport photo. I thought the initial photo was compliant with their standards, but this time I had mine taken by someone who specializes in immigration photos and made sure it met all the standards. It's been almost two weeks since they received the new photo - does anyone know how long a response typically takes?

They aim to respond within 60 days, although the specifics tends to make this anywhere from several days upon arrival + acknowledgement to a few weeks in most cases. For more complicated RFEs (doesn't sound like the case here), it could take over 60 days.

look at my timelines we had RFE myself and it wasn't too long until our case approved
