I'm so excited right now! My fiancé and my future step children will attend their  interview April 25th... Does anyone have any suggestions for us/her to help the interview process? Thank you so much!

Each interview is unique to each individual case. Go in fully prepared with all needed documentation (I-134 and supporting documents, proof of ongoing relationship, any other country specific documents). Just be relaxed, answer as honestly, clearly and positively as possible. A lot of times the evidence seen by the CO before the interview has already made them make a decision whether to approve or not; but they can be swayed or change their minds with a positive feeling from the beneficiary during the interview too.

First - congratulations on reaching this point! It is a big relief, and an even bigger one once the interview is out of the way.

 

I'm the USC, so my perspective isn't from a beneficiary's, but my fiancé explained his experience as being pretty smooth. We were VERY prepared - probably over prepared - which probably helped. Being super prepared not only makes the interview smoother, but gives you guys a sense of peace going into it. Confidence.

 

Every interview is different, depending on the person/case/country of origin - lots of factors. The best advice to have, I think, regardless of these factors is to double check everything you need, and double check it all again once you have it all together ready to go. The financial paperwork of the USC and/or co-sponsor seem to be very important, so make sure all of that is well organized and just generally accurate information.

 

Most importantly - be patient and try not to stress about it! If your case is a pretty basic one and you're well prepared, it won't be so bad. Good luck to you guys!!
