Hi there. My PD is 3 April 2017. Wife is a permanent resident of USA and she moved to the US in June 2014, so yet she is not the citizen. My question is if I go to the UK for to do the 1-year study (I want to do Masters before moving to USA), will my case be processed from the UK or from my home country?  Also, what is the anticipated date of my visa grant? Moreover, we got NOC-1 from California center stating that case is received. Till now, no any response from them. When do we get NOC-2? Your kind help is really appreciated. One more question, my wife is residing in USA with her parents. She is the only child. Her parents are sick and she really needs me there to support her. Is there any special case to speed up the whole process?

For an F2A the total processing time from NOA1 to visa issuance is around 2 years. So expect to be moving to the USA in the spring of 2019.

No, there is nothing that can be done to speed up the process. But you said you wanted to study for a year anyway.

If you are in the U.K. on a student visa, you can be interviewed in the U.K. when the time comes.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!
