Hello everyone!

I'm preparing everything I need for my AOS (and hope to apply by the end of the month), and I'm really confused with Form I-693. The instructions to I-485 say that it's not required but you may sbmit it if you wish. I started calling USCIS approved doctors in my area, and they all refuse to do the paperwork without a medical, which is about $200 - 300 per person, and there are 3 of us applying... I even called USCIS, and they confirmed that I don't need a new medical and they have no idea why doctors don't know about that. What did you do about your vaccination records?

Soo question about health care!

We already married and sent the AOS package.. my husbands job does not offer health insurance, he gets it through the nystateofhealth system..

we were trying to add me as his wife, but they ask if I am a non-immigrant visa holder or an immigrant... on the immigrant description says that it is anyone with a lawfully status with USCIS..  so I chose immigrant.. but then at the end of the application is making me swear that I am an immigrant and it says that immigrant is anyone who is allowed to receive benefits.. I thought as K1 we were not allowed to get any benefits from the goverment.. am I right?

Live, love, laugh.. and try not to think too much about USCIS

AOS Chicago (I-130, I-485, I-131 AP, I-765 EAD)
12/1/17 - Mailed (Fedex)
12/5/17 - Delivered, Received date
12/8/17 - Notice date on all forms
12/12/17 - Text Msgs for all forms, checks cashed
12/16/17 - NOA1 hard copy arrived (I-797C)

Expect this to be transferred to Raleigh at some point.  Our game plan is to try for a walk-in visit for bio as soon as the appointment letter arrives, if successful request an expedite for EAD with a job offer letter (financial hardship).  Good luck everyone!

I actually had some confusion over this as well.  Since you just did the medical with the K1 Visa, you don't need to worry about it again.  I sent a copy of my husbands vaccination record with our packet though.

Let me know how that goes!! I will be trying to expedite my EAD with a job offer too.. I did not know you could try to do a walk in... Luckily for me the Buffalo office is pretty light on work :P so I might try that too!!  (My AOS package just got delivered Saturday the 16th)

Good luck!

So we got the text messages and emails that they received the forms on 12/14. Today they cashed the check. The NOA1 notices can’t be far behind.

That's correct. You can get health insurance from private insurer, but probably not through the state health care exchange.

We chose Fidelis care which is a private insurer (I hope cuz  I already paid for it!!..)

So I should say I am a non-immigrant? I tried asking the insurance but they are of no help..
