My wife is in the US now with me and I am planning a honeymoon trip. My wife hasnt received her green card yet but she has a US Visa on a Pakistani passport and I want to travel to Italy and Ireland. Is she safe in flying ?

Not if you don't have AP.

I have never seen a CR-1/IR-1 visa, but, all visas have a number of entries allowed. Mine, a K-1, has just one entry allowed. So, before getting my GC I need a AP document. Check her visa and proceed according.

Best luck

Jess

Disregard my last post ... didn't realize it's a CR-1/IR-1 question. Wouldn't this be better suited to that forum though? I know the visa pretty much makes you a permanent resident upon entry but without an actual green card, I'm not sure.

Just a tip, there's a whole forum called "Working & Traveling prior to getting a Green Card" and a pinned thread on this very topic.. (I found it helpful...)

With all the goofy stuff going on you need advance parole or something in writing from someone.. I wouldnt be taking anyone out of the country unless you have something that says they can come back in.. US visa or not.. I have read horror stories of people being trapped outside

Tarda pero llega...

According to this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=19229&st=0

Posted by meauxna in the DCF forum but applicable to all immigrant visas including CR-1/IR-1

In Secondary, info will be entered into the computer and a few random questions may come out (how long married, where are you going etc). You may want to confirm your US mailing address here. You'll give a fingerprint and autograph (for the Green Card) and the visa in your passport will be stamped aka endorsed. This endorsement is the equivilant of your Green Card and serves as evidence of your status as a Permanent Resident. You can travel with this stamp as a Permanent Resident until you get your Green Card. Hopefully someone will tell you "Welcome to America" as they give you instructions about removing conditions in 2 years (ideally & if applicable).

So, now what you have to check is the endorsement of your wife's visa.

Best luck and Bon voyage,

Jess
