Hello. Anyone doing AoS through 245i using I-485 Supplement A in USA that is also in the FB1 Category?

What questions are asked in the interview and does the petitioner has to be there for an approved I-130?

yes, the petitioner has to be at the interview

there aren't many questions, to make sure you qualify under the 245i law and that the affidavit of support is from the petitioner is enough  I suppose you paid the $1000 fine to adjust status in the US?

I adjusted under the 245i law, my US Citizen mom filed for me in 1999, I had the interview in 2005 and became a USC in 2010

I adjusted under the 245i law, my US Citizen mom filed for me in 1999, I had the interview in 2005 and became a USC in 2010

It was done through an Immigration attorney. USC Mother filed for Unmarried Son over 2 in the FB1 category.

All paperwork completed through an Immigration Attorney:

Priority Date: 6/9/11.

NOA - I-130: Approved: 5/19/14.

Mailed application packet on 10/2/17.

NOA - I-485/Supplement A: Received:10/4/17  // I-485/Supplement A: Notice date: 10/11/17.

NOA - I-765: Received: 10/4/17 // I-765: Notice Date: 10/11/17 (Online case status only says 10/4/17 though).

NOA - ASC: Notice Date: 10/21/17. SSN is not listed and I am not sure why? SSN was submitted in the application. USCIS A# is listed on I-485, I-765 and ASC.

11/6/17: 2pm appointment date Biometrics completed with stamp.

Is the application moving fairly quickly or about the same timeline?

Affidavit of Support is from my Brother who is a USC and it was enough. I paid $,1000 and it looks like the I-485  NOA says:

Application/Petition Fee: $2,140.00.

Biometrics Fee: $85.

Total Amount Received: $2,225.00

Total Balance Due: $0.00.

Labor Certification (ETA) was submitted before the 4/30/01 before the deadline and it has the Supervisor/Manager date on there that they received it with a job code in California.

from what i remember the questions were: what do i do for living, if im single (F2B category), if i ever left US since entering and then yes/no questions from i485 form. interview lasted probably 20 mins and for the most part IO was looking through my file.

it's the standard letter for people who don't get approved on the spot. it says that the'll make a decision within 120 days and if not you need to call them. IO said they need this time to perform more background checks. almost 3 weeks after my interview. still waiting.

They already did background check after Biometrics. What other checks would be possible? So if someone were to getting then beneficiary would know after interview? The 120 wait is a good outcome because it guarantees acceptance?

it could be time needed for additional background checks or ongoing background check. that what i've read on i_m_m_i_h_e_l_p forum as i myself also assumed that the background check would be completed prior to the interview. i don't think acceptance is guaranteed unless approved on the spot at the time of the interview. the wait is definitely something that takes toll on the applicants throughout the whole aos period.
