Of course I will apply for AP as soon as the marriage is done, to get that process going.

Sure. But if you do so before you receive AP then:

1) Your AOS application will be abandoned, and

2) You likely won't be able to enter the US until you get a CR-1 visa (ETA: ~12-14 months).

7/19/2017: Visa in hand
