I would still have your daughter contact a lawyer as mentioned,  but I think you'll "only" need a waiver for the marijuana. The prostitution does not make you inadmissible since it was over 10 years ago.

Your daughter is a qualifying relative for the i-601 waiver for you. They take about a year to process and there are no guarantees. If you are granted a waiver, up to date documents of what ever other documents they ask for will ofc also be needed.

Good luck to you and please keep us updated.

This is the waiver form for you to look over and see what you are going to have to do.  I believe the waiver requirement mentioned by the CO is for drugs, not for prostitution.  Prostitution > 10 years ago appears to not affect admissibility.  Drug charge can be waived if it was less than 30 grams.  3 grams?  Not in the ballpark.

You need to wait and get an official answer from the CO as to exactly why you were/are going to be denied but you do need a lawyer to put this together for you and you have an uphill battle.

Good luck to you. Half of us (USC's) are probably inadmissible in our own country based on what we did in our youths.

Thankyou I may have to do that if I need it.So 3 grams of marijuana 33 years ago is definately a reason for inadmissability?I was just in my 20s It was a one time thing.Thats very sad but it is what it is I have to accept it.I have 3 american children and 4 american grandchildren.I lived in USA 22 year but abandoned my green card when i moved back to England 10 years ago.All my family live in USA now my parents deceased.I am alone here now

It looks like it based on what is written in the law.  Read the application and instructions and see what the attorney tells you.

Yes - posession/marijuana use has no time limitation in U.S. immigration law in that regard. I'm so sorry for you, but the good news is at least that there is a path for you.

So you went through this process before, how did that work out?

You said you lived in the US for 22 years. How did you get there, how did you deal with your issues in so doing.

My husband was an american and I recieved a green card..We split up and thats when I got arrested back  in the 80s.I had a green card before I was arrested I decided to come live in UK when my parents were ill. I had  to abandon my green card as I lived outside the USA over a year.I applied for a visitors visa and I recieved that after a successful waiver.
