N400 interview a week before I751 interview???

Hi folks, I filed my i751 application in October 2015. A year later they asked for more evidence which I submitted. After that the USCIS went silence. In March 2016 I filed my n400 for citizenship and last week I received my invitation for the n400 interview. The interview is in the second week of October. Strangely, today, I received another letter for a i751 interview which is scheduled for the last week of October. So how is it possible that my n400 interview is scheduled before the i751 interview. What does that all mean?

It means that you'll get your n400 results after they get the info on your I-751 interview. Expect to get the decision can't be made at this time paper for naturalization interview.

Make sure to bring your spouse to n400 interview as well- they may decide to do both interviews at the same time. And bring the I-751 interview letter (and any additional evidence since your last submission) to the n400 interview.

I second the previous comment. I'd go to the N400 interview with the spouse and also be ready for a I-751 interview. Who knows but assuming your I-751 file is also with the field office at this point, they could say now that you're both here, let's take that out of the way as well. So bring whatever additional evidence you collected since Oct 2015 (2015/2016 taxes; more bank statements, travels, photos, insurances, whatever you think would help with the I-751 case). Also there are a few recent I-751 interview stories shared on VJ; take a look at those for potential questions.

Worst case; they would do your N400 interview as planned but will not approve your case until after the I-751 interview. Good luck and please share back how things unfold.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I'm still wrapping my head around whether to go to n400 interview or not. My wife and me are currently living separately, still trying to work things out and due to that my lawyer adviced me to reschedule n400 interview. Also - it's not the first time we live separately and my lawyer said technically we always had to live together in order to qualify for citizenship. So she advised to reschedule and do i751 interview first. On top of that my wife isn't in the city while I have my n400 interview.
