K1 is a non-immigrant category visa, but it obviously isn't a F, M or J series visa.

As to the bonifide relationships part I have no idea. This would probably require some consulting with a lawyer to figure out.

Seema like k1 visas will be issued due to she's a bond fide (a US citizen, me). Thank you for the help. Was worried a bit.

Glad to hear that is the case for you two. Hopefully it doesn't take too much extra time to complete the process for you two.

Is k1 visa, is a "non immigrant" visa?

Under U.S. immigration law, a foreign-citizen fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen is the recipient of an approved Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), Form I-129F, who has been issued a nonimmigrant K-1 visa for travel to the United States in order to marry his or her U.S. citizen fiancé(e).

Ok I am really not reading correctly obviously. Total ban on immigrant status visa's means Iran is going to be difficult period. I really misread that apologies.

I got an RFE dated for the 11th, made it to my mailbox on the 15th. Hopeful that I will get the NOA2 around Friday. This has been the longest bout of torture. When we applied I didn't know about the processing slowdown this year and assumed she would be here by about now maybe early October. We really weren't prepared for this.

I didn't get to read all the way. The phase 2 on the new ban, will deny the k1 visa (even for bona fide) applicant!! That's very sad.

The bonafide relationship will end when phase 2 starts on Oct 18th. So, no more k1 visa for those countries after Oct 18th!

Ah... :/ I'm sorry... thought you were reading in the right place. If you have the link to the correct government source it would benefit future readers of the the thread. It is sad indeed, but I cannot think it will be a permanent situation.

It's like, the long distance wasn't long enough, now this stupid ban!! I hope it's not permanent.

No K1 or spousal visas will be issued after October 18th for Iran. Eight countries are being affected by this travel ban and here is a chart so you can see how every country differs. Straight from the Department of State.

I hope something changes soon.
