When there are relationship red flags such as religion, age, cultural differences at difficult embassies frontloading is necessary. However, You will receive NOID/NOIR and have a chance for rebuttal.  You should begin preparing significant relationship evidence.

@ sparkles, don't agree with that at all. I personally know Moroccans who have adopted orphans or abandoned children. Its not allowed to lie to them and let them believe that they are biological and let them change their last name etc. So basically you can raise a child  ( it's even encouraged to do so) and be like a parent to them. But you can't do that without doing it the legal way, and that's adoption.

I think the problem might be that petitioner was an adult at the time of dating and the beneficiary was a minor.

That is why I said in the sense that non Muslims do. But a lot of times, with these big age gaps (sorry in advance but if I had a dollar for the times I heard this, I would be a wealthy woman) the young man will feed this western style adoption story to an older woman knowing full well that he would never adopt a child with her even in the kefala sense.

Also Muslims do adopt. Again as long as they don't lie to the child and let it believe it's their biological child it's accepted, even encouraged. I almost did it myself years ago but one of the requirements was that I had to live in Morocco for approximately 6/8 months. I couldn't leave my job so I didn't do it...and I wasn't a non Muslim..

One of my closest relatives ( Muslim and living in Morocco)  adopted a child from an orphanage this year. Just saying...

Other then that, I personally don't think a young guy of 17 years fully knows whether he wants to be father or not. It's a life altering decision and I try not to judge but I just don't believe that a young Moroccan guy will make that decision at that age. Maybe if he was older I would believe it.

OP,  I truly wish you the best on your path.

Sounds like all will be sorted when Op's Mother recovers.
