April Filer Visa Approved!!! Thank You VJ!!!

After 5 1/2 months of waiting, our Visa was approved!! Thank you so much VJers, we couldn't have done it without you. This site is amazing!

 

I'd like to say to those that are still at the beginning stages of this process, be patient and manage expectations. Time seemed to slow down to the point that it felt as if it wasn't going to happen (especially waiting for the NOA 2). But, it will happen!!

 

Now, a huge sigh of relief, taking some time then on the Green Card. Which, of course, we'll use VJ!! THANK YOU!!!!

Congrats! How long was the process from NOA1 to NOA2 for you? Was yours expedited? I was reading another filer who waited from the end of March until today to receive his NOA2 and you completed the whole process in less time.

Thank you for the congrats! It took 164 long days from NOA1 to NOA 2. When our case got to the embassy, I received and email saying as such. Then, immediately received a second email saying that our request to expedite had been granted. The thing is, we never sent an expedite request.  So, to answer your question, yes it was expedited at the embassy stage. I still don't know how that happened. That said, after reading on VJ that things move really quickly after the NOA 2, we were prepared with everything that we needed. Glad we were!

Congratulations! Updates like this are really encouraging to me. We filed our i129f petition in July, so we have a ways to go still, but it makes me very hopeful when I see approval stories like this (we're expecting our first baby in February, I'm hoping he can be here in the States by then). Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you both!

Congratulations on the baby! I do hope that all goes well for you so that you can be together in February. In our experience, waiting for the NOA 2 was the worst as the estimated dates kept getting pushed back and back. It got the point to where I had to take a break from VJ several times and just forget about the visa for awhile. But, one day it came as it will for you. After that, it moved FAST. Less than a month until we got the visa, after the NVC received our case. I think we both are fortunate that Australia is an "easy" embassy.
