Yes you can - the civil surg just needs to transcribe them and fill out the correct portions of the i693.

It would be much less expensive to go to the local health department for vaccines. Most have a sliding scale fee.

Yes it is cheaper - the CS's are still good at charging for their part though. And as mentioned many of them refuse to do only the vaccination part and want you to have the full medical again to sign the i693. A full medical is normally a few hundred.

So, you can't get the vaccines at the local health department and take the record to the Civil Surgeon?

Yes, you can. But finding a CS willing to sign off on the document without a full medical examination can be a challenge. They aren't immigration experts and don't really know the AOS from a K-1 process, so they tend to be hesitant to sign it.

My husband went to the local health department and had his vaccines. If i recall it we didnt have to pay anthing for them since it was a sliding fee scale. We then called around and found a doctor that agreed to fill out the vaccination part of the form, stating he did indeed have the vaccines. I did have to call several places to find a doctor that agreed to do it. Even he was hesitant. He charged us $75 USD.

Where have you read that? Do you remember?

Maybe it’s different on the k-1 but on the spousal visa, the visa is definitely issued based on the validity of police transcripts and medical. Or at least it was like that 18 months ago when i went through the process.

During my interview, we got a 221g for an updated I-864. By the time we got that in, the CO then said that my police cert would expire in two months and they won’t issue a visa for that short time so I needed to get a new police cert before the CO would issue my visa.

I finally got my visa issued in February and it expired June 16th, six months after my medical, but with only a four month window to enter the US.

OP,  what’s the expiration date on your visa?

when you have health insurance, some will cover vaccines as preventative care. Of course, that would mean sorting out your insurance situation before having the health exam, but you can actually submit your application without the completed i-693 form and wait for an RFE or interview.

You can get vaccines done anywhere you want and bring the records to the civil surgeon's office. However, you have to remember that in the US it's difficult to find free vaccines for adults and if your state has them, you may not be eligible to receive them as you won't be a resident yet. Clinics in pharmacies will want to bill your insurance. Without insurance, vaccines can get pretty expensive. So if there's a way to get your vaccines done in your home country, that might be a lot cheaper for you.

What happened with this? Can a new medical be got in the uk before your visa ends?

My medical expired. The clinic said you had to travel with a valid medical - uk. Visa valid until 30th September.  Upsetting Unexpected circumstances meant couldn’t travel. Just want to know if anyone had experience with this so I’m aware whether the visa is now lost

You woke up a three year old zombie thread.

Are you sure the visa expires in September?  They usually are timed to the expiration of the medical

YMMV

This is what is strange my visa is stamped with 30th September. My medical expired today. Due to unfortunate circumstances couldn’t go before now so what I’m trying to find out is has anyone re taken the medical? Or am I now at a stage where because the medical has expired the visa is also wiped also.

coulent  find a more recent thread with similar situation.  🙈

I know this is a very old thread, but I have the same question as others.

Our K-1 interview was postponed due to COVID, so now our medical exam results will expire several days AFTER the interview.  Can my fiance travel to the USA with an expired medical?  The medical envelope specifically states, "Please travel to US before date exam expires"...but I don't know why that would be the case.

The visa will not be valid  longer than the medical.  For example, if the medical validity is expiring on May 1st, and the interview is on April 20, the visa will be valid for entry until May 1st.  Is your fiancé ready to travel?   When is the medical expiring?

Thanks....that's what I was afraid of.  The issue is that there may not be enough time between the interview and the medical expiration to receive the visa/passport and fly (only 7 days).

In preparation for that we are trying to decide if we should do ANOTHER medical exam now.  But that would create a situation where we go to the interview with one medical exam, hopefully visa approved, then medical expires, and then we fly with another medical exam?  Not sure how that would even work.

Best of luck.
