How long is the timeline from filing to receiving citizenship, at the moment?

I received my unconditional GC back in April 2017. I decided to chill for a bit before applying for citizenship (just wanted to take a break from the government!) and I think I will apply soon. What is the current timeline right now? The reason I'm asking is because I'd rather do my best to avoid having to go in to Boston during the winter when it's icy and snowy everywhere. I get anxious already with appointments so I would rather not have to deal with the weather and trains being delayed etc.

N 400 is always processed at the local office. Go to the USCIS processing times website and look in the drop down menu for your local office, then check the processing times. Some are much faster than others, but I don't know about yours. Good luck!

I believe Boston FO processes cases fast so far. However, it might take from 4-6 months for total processing time.

Start applying if you are ready! Get rid of USCIS as fast as you could :D

  To Steelers1020,

Where is your Field Office?  I filed in May too.    I mailed it on May 5, 2017.  It was approved May 25, 2017 and I took the Biometrics June12 at the Field Office here in San Jose, CA.   Today I got a letter in the mail that my interview date is on Oct. 23, 2017.

Oh wow, congrats! My husband's field office is Chicago. He filed in 3rd week of May and had fingerprints in 3rd week of June.

I always check my case status on the USCIS website but upon receiving the letter I checked my case on their website it has not been updated since their last update which was June 20, 2017.  I  do not know how the process works.  Also before receiving the interview letter, the field office here shows the processing date as of September 25, 2016.  It is just better to wait I guess.    Thank you for the kind words Steelers1020.
