I have never registered for vote as I am not a Us citizen then how come I got this Jury Letter? It says I have been randomly selected for jury duty.. I have mailed the letter stating that I am not a US citizen and I am on green card. But I am freaking how come I got selected since I am on a green card? I can guarantee I have never registered for voting as it can harm my citizenship. I am so scared.. anyone has experienced this before?

Just fax a letter to the presiding judge or authority and explain that you are not a citizen.  It is nothing to worry about.

Hi there,

as long as you sent back the letter stating that you are not a US citizen, you'll be fine.

Nothing else to do on your side.

This happened to my wife years ago when she was not yet a citizen.

Regards.

Don't worry.  This is just an error on their part.  In some localities, jury members are selected by driver's licenceor other records.  Just explain the situation to them, and all will be fine.

thank you so much!!

you dont need to worry, sometimes could be a mix up somewhere, and since you said it was randomly selected you could get more info when you call the court house.

The names for sending those jury things are randomly chosen, I believe.

I got one almost immediately after obtaining a State ID at the DMV last year...just checked off "not a citizen" and sent it back with a photocopy of my green card.

That’s next thing on my mind. But I remember going to DMV in March and they speciafically asked to me show my green card in order for me to get my driving licence. I presented my green card and got my licence. I hope they have not made any mistake :( that’s what I am really worried about..
