My husband was in a detention center for almost 4 months and got bonded out. I was able to marry him (at the detention center) and file the I-130 (only got NOA1). We have gathered all the information for the I-485, I-765, & I-131 and are now assembling it to mail off. Should we still mail it to the USCIS Chicago lockbox or to the Immigration Court? If the court, how do we find the address to submit it to?

All application goes through the Chicago lockbox office. You might have to keep a copy for your record. Make sure you duplicate everything you are sending......in case you need it for the court.

Another question...should we send it off or should we get our lawyer to send it off? The only difference is we are trying to avoid attorney costs by the lawyer sending it off.

Send it your self....I did overnight post with signature confirmation request at the post office. It was less than $20...Your lawyer at this point of the application does NOT help you..... with a lawyer you still have to be the one to fill out the forms.....they are just glorify proof reader at this stage. The only time you need a lawyer is if you have a complicated immigration issues....or just for a peace of mind......

Just have your wife proof read all the documents, check and recheck that u have all the required documents.  Then send it to the chicago lockbox address.....

Good luck
