Hello, I would appreciate some help from someone who knows the real answer, my fiance and I (the beneficiary) are almost finished with preparing the K1 visa documents required, but I have a question about the signature on the Letter of Intent to Marry. What I did was print the Letter of Intent, sign it, scan it and sent her a copy of it for her to print and sign too. This way she would have an original signature but mine is photocopied.

Now I've read so many threads and some people say that it's okay if my signature isn't an "original signature" and some say that I should mail it to her, some got through the process with a photocopied letter and some got an RFE for having the beneficiary's signature photocopied.
I'm really lost here, what should I do, do I have to mail the actual paper with my original signature via mail? Do they have any official link regarding this matter?
Thank you.

The instructions sheet does not ask for an original but personally, we submitted every signed document with a wet signature because we just didn't wanna risk a RFE adding more time to our process.

Paying a little more postage is better than RFE and extra processing times to us. So really, it depends on how you look at things and how you prefer to tackle the what ifs and maybes in this process.

You'll be asking the same question at K-1 stage with a fresh new letter of intent and the I-134.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

While I don't disagree with @KULtoATL I know in our case we just sent in scanned photocopies and we were fine.  It really depends on your level of anxiety.

I wish USCIS would state it clearly for both petitioners and adjudicators. If they did, we won't keep guessing if we should send in an original or a copy and adjudicators would not be inconsistent when accepting the submission or issuing a RFE :)
