It is quite rare for documents to be asked for, although it's always best to have them in case you are asked for them.

Most of the decision has already been made before the interview based on information on the application form and the interview is their for any questions they may have. They then take note of your verbal answers and body language to assess if they believe you or not.

Documents don't mean much as anyone with a printer can knock up whatever documents you might need.

There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to US tourist visas, it's not a case of if you tick all these boxes you'll get one. It's based on the opinion of the consular officer if they think the applicant can be trusted.

Some people with few solid ties to their country can get approved while some people with plenty to go home to can be denied. It depends on how much the interviewing officer feels they can trust you during a very short interview.

For your situation it would be best to wait a while before reapplying. Remember, they make notes of every answer the applicant gives and those notes are available for the next interviewing officer.

Think about it. If someone is denied at an interview and then goes back just a little while after and the officer can see that nothing has changed except the way the applicant answers then it just looks like they've been coached to say just what they think the embassy wants to hear. That will raise more doubts about their truthfulness.
