CEAC status is ISSUED, safe to buy ticket?

I had my interview last Friday and CO approved on the spot. My case was on Admin Processing from Friday, Sept 1 to Sept 5. This morning, the status changed to Issued. I've tried tracking it on the 2Go website but it's not coming back with anything so it looks like my Passport hasn't been forwarded to them yet.

 

My question is, should I wait until I can track my visa on the courier's tracking system or should I I hold off buying my plane tickets altogether until I have my visa in hand?

Tickets are becoming pricier as days go by thus my question. BTW, I just live in Metro Manila so delivery should just take 4 days max.

Hi congrats on your visa approval .....go to the following link and track your passport and it will show you if your passport is ready to to be collected or delivered to DHL and then make your travel plans

USEM uses 2GO, not DHL.

Am sorry am not from Philippines and am not aware of that but i guess when i responded to other users from other countries they did mention about DHL so i thought it would be the same  well....end of the day they have to have their passport with them

Yup...it's been crazy. The more common one I've seen is that the sealed envelope is damaged during shipping/delivery, and needs to be sent back to the embassy to re-seal, which can add a week or 2 to your timeline.

Edit: Or there's a mistake on the visa itself....i.e. a misspelled name, wrong DOB, etc.

Yikes.... didn't even think about those possibilities. Will wait for my visa then

We waited until hubby had his passport picked up with visa + all the other sealed paperwork. Better safe than sorry, unless you can get a ticket that allows change of date.

I took the risk and bought the plane ticket 9 days before my K1 visa interview. But then again I'm from a low risk European Union country and our relationship with my then fiance/now husband is very straight forward.

 

11/14/2014 - Bought plane ticket

11/25/2014 - Interview (approved)

11/27/2014 - Received passport with K1 visa in it

12/06/2014 - On the plane to the US

When the CEAC website said Issued for my visa, I thought it would change to Ready to pick up, but no. I called embassy the next day and they said my visa was ready to pick up from Aramex (something like DHL in Jordan).

It's really 50/50. It is indeed advised to not purchase any tickets until you have your visa in hand due to all sorts and kind of mistakes that can occur, such as delays, ripped envelopes, wrong printed visa (e.g. wrong name, dob, anything)

I took the risk, too. My interview was on Friday July '15 and I booked the cheapest tickets later that night (in-season flights from Europe are crazy expensive). I had the luck my visa package got delivered four days later, intact and without issues.
