You filed at a consulate office in New Zealand, correct?  Submit a letter to them, or call and update your Australian address change (if you can do it over the phone).

 

As for your USC wife, this info is relevant to her since she moved back to the US:

 

U.S. Citizens

U.S. citizens are not required to file a Form AR-11 and can make a change of address on pending cases via our Online Change of Address page or by calling 1-800-375-5283.  U.S. Citizens who do not have an application or petition pending with USCIS are only legally required to notify USCIS of a change of address if they have previously submitted a Form I-864 on behalf of someone who has become a permanent resident. If you have previously submitted a Form I-864 for someone who immigrated to the U.S., you must complete a Form I-865 within thirty days of the completion of your move.

Thanks I will try call them and see if they can do it. For my wife she tried to change on line but it would only let her if she was changing from an American to an American address. She wasn't able to change her New Zealand address.

You said in your original post that your wife moved back to the US.  

If she is residing in the US now, she needs to use her US address not the New Zealand one.  She no longer resides in New Zealand (or Australia).

 

She can put in the change from her "old" US address (before she left for New Zealand) to her "new and current" address since she moved back to the US.

The site clearly states:

 

Note: Present and former residents of the United States do NOT need to submit any U.S. police certificates.

 

You do not need to provide a certificate for your time in the us. They are part of the us government so they can easily search the us databases. It is other countries that they need the certificates for.
