When the DACA recipients applied what happened to their parents or family members who brought them over illegally?

I'm reminded of what someone told me during an earlier conversation:  "Sure, kid, you can apply for DACA... as long as you submit your illegal parents for priority deportation."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

When talking to my wife about citizenship, she's a bit dismissive of the idea. But when I explain to her that it enables us to live in either country for an indefinite amount of time, something seemed to click for her. So, bottom line: citizenship does hold benefits that are not limited to what you can/can't do in the US.

Katya and I have talked about citizenship at length and I always left that decision up to her, but based on what she has been telling me, she will be going forward with the N400 in December.  In her case being a US citizen does have some benefits especially when traveling to some of the desitinations we have on our bucket list, but in her case I think it has more to do with embracing her new home.

Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson: "I'm 4-0 against Trump.  DACA will make it 5-0."

This one may be tougher.  Based on what I have read, DACA was found legal due to prosecutorial discretion when Obama signed it.  Is the prosecutorial discretion of Obama Administration different than the prosecutorial discretion of the Trump Administration?  It is not like Trump is thumbing his nose at a duly passed and signed law here.

No time to read all the posts here. Trump did not end it today which he could have. He put the authority where it belongs...With Congress, and he gave them 6 months to do it. Obama forced this by taking action that he did not have the authority to take.

For everyone crying about this you need to realize that he did DACA kids a favor. Obama's order would have never been upheld in Supreme Court. That means that the recipients had no legal standing. Trump has forced Congress's hand to actually do their job for a change.

This isn't intended to sound harsh, simply factual - if you came here legally and continue to follow the laws, you won't ever be deported.  That is an important concept to keep in mind while considering the fate of DACA.

My thoughts exactly. I believe that most folks who come here from other countries are just happy to escape whatever nonsense was going on back home while having the opportunity to earn more here.

Obviously referring to "folks" not from a 1st world country.   Personally I'd be tickled pink to move back, but while Im married, it likely isn't going to happen for 40 years or more.

Exactly correct!!!!   DACA was done by a power-hungry Obama behind the backs of Congress to usurp existing law.  What President Trump has done is to put the gears in motion to finally legalize this .  In stead of protesting Trump, these folks should be praising him.......but then President Trump can never do anything good in their biased eyes.

I just read that President Trump will revisit DACA if Congress fails to act...

Not to go off topic too much...everyone who immigrates here (legally or otherwise) has made a choice to come here. Canada is a lovely country (I've been there a few times) and I'm sure you'd be welcomed back with open arms.

This is where Trump is his own worst enemy.  He should have left the discussion where it was, "the ball being tossed back to Congress", but he had to go and say oh well, we will see what has to be done if Congress doesn't act.

From what I've read so far from actual DACA holders, they're thanking Trump and seeing this as a victory.  It's looking more and more like they'll receive their amnesty.  I believe Sarah Huckabee Sanders said yesterday that he did this to PROTECT them, not get rid of them.  Hmm...

it will be interesting to see the impact on processing times as early renewals are being accepted

No.. children don't make a choice. That was the point of DACA.

Which is why children get a pass.

But what can we expect from trump, or his human shield sessions, who has no morals. and certainly neither has no care for 'illegals' unless they are working as a collective pawn to feed the rabid maga base. i would say i'm surprised at how many people using an immigration site are against daca, but i'm not at all really. people across the globe are a jealous, self-centered lot - only concerned with themselves and way too quick to judge anyone they feel they can step on to get ahead.

They should be shouting for illegals?
