Afford to travel

How does every afford to travel to their fiance overseas so much? I make a good living and i can not afford to travel like others do. My fiance is in philipines western visayas antique and it runs me 1500 round trip from new mexico texas area.

Are you specifically referring to flying to the philipines?

In that case I would understand your question.

For others, some people live an hour or less away from each other and just need to drive across the border.

Some other other routes are less than half of that.

 

So it really depends on what the route is.

Yes referring to flying to philipines, i read a post awhile back where a woman was f lying every 3 months to africa from USA not sure where here but that is expensive also. Apparently she had to have 2 jobs to do it.

I was traveling a lot but my route was more like going cross country.

I have priorities set to make good living and provide for her i send every month so family can survive but i also provide for AMERICA also by delivering food nation wide. Some of us was not born with a silver spoon in our mouths and live chech to check cause emergencies comes up and wipes out what is saved.

I been flying to see my fiancé in the Palawan Philippines about every 4 months from Arizona. I watch for deals on Southwest Airlines to get me to LAX. Keep an eye out for specials. Also leaving in the middle of the week is cheaper. The other thing I do is use a cheaper local airline for my flight from Manila to Palawan. So that saves some too.

agree.  Sometimes choices are tough. and long distance relationships are very tough..

I know what you mean, believe me......Long distance relationships are tough.  I hope you complete your visa journey as quickly as possible.

It depends on the location and the situation. For example, I used to live in the Middle East. My wife will visit me every 3 months. Ticket prices were between $650-850. Sometimes we will split the cost. When she is there we will stay in my place with my family.

You have to set priorities as stated earlier. How much do you send a month if you don't mind me asking? What places are you at for tickets? Because if you buy a ticket in advance for a non holiday then it is considerably cheaper. What airport are you flying from?

I went to Taiwan 3 times.  Over the span of 2 years, the prices fluctuated an incredible amount.  There is absolutely no logic in airline fares...

Another thing.......sometimes, the airline fare is much different between what I saw on the app versus what I saw on the web site.........
