That's what I was thinking as well.

If she lived in Afghanistan since before when they were ruled by a King, and has been living there with no problem what changed for her to just uproot and move?

“The reasoning from the migration agency is that it’s not unsafe enough in Afghanistan,” said Sanna Vestin, the head of the Swedish Network of Refugee Support Groups. But she said many of the big cities cited as safe are not at the moment.

Before their journey to Sweden, the family had been living illegally in Iran for eight years. They left Afghanistan because of an ongoing war and insecurity, but Mohammed Uzbeki said it’s difficult to prove that the family faces a specific enemy if they return.

“If I knew who was the enemy, I would have just avoided them,” he said, citing Islamic State, the Taliban and suicide bombers as possible dangers.

They could have stayed in the Balkans and lived in a few countries that have sizeable Muslim populations. But they instead went on to Sweden to more than likely live off the benefits.

It stops when people use my tax money without providing anything at all to the system. Why should I give someone a handout when they just want live off the system provided and don't actually live here? I am more than happy helping people that need help, but not when they aren't actual citizens or legal residents.

If they have been living in Iran the last 8 years then they can't claim that they were in danger at all. What probably happened is that the Iranian government came to them and said helps us by giving up a son to help fight in Syria. He will then be paid a good amount of money and also be helping the Shiite faith. They then said no and left Iran.

You live in Sweden?

Anyways, she's probably a Russian spy, so for the best.

"A 106-year-old Afghan woman who made a perilous journey to Europe, carried by her son and grandson through mountains, deserts and forests, is facing deportation from Sweden after her asylum application was rejected."

Sounds like the woman didn't have much choice whether she went to Sweden or not, carried by her sons and grandsons.

Maybe Sweden needs it's own version of DACA for old people who were brought across the border but didn't have much choice in the matter. :jest:

They should learn from Americans and build a wall to keep those Danes out.
