My husband and I want to travel within US. My visa was expired. I just received my NOA1 for my adjusment of status. Am I allowed to fly within US without having a problem in the airport?

You can travel inside US with a valid passport or other valid ID.  However, you need to carry your GC and extension letter as evidence of your status.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes, you can travel within the US.

 

Just make sure you ALWAYS bring the following with you at all times while waiting for your GC:

 

1. Marriage Certificate copy

2. I-485 NOA1 copy

3. Valid passport

 

That was what the lady told me in the USCIS field office when I had my biometrics back in May. She said the MC will serve as my ID while waiting for the GC so bring it EVERYWHERE I go AT ALL TIMES.

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Don't rely on getting the correct answer at the biometrics appointment from anyone behind the counter.

In reference of TheSkywalkers' answer:

My mother submitted her I485 two months after her I-94 for 6 months expired.  Now, her foreign passport lapsed and we have to go to another state to renew it in the consulate.

Can she fly to the other state without problems?  She received the Notice of Receipt from her AOS application, and she already went to her biometrics appointment.
