Another poverty guideline issue

We just received a notification concerning income and the I-864 Affidavit of Support. "... income did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline for the petitioner/sponsor's household size."

It goes on to request either proof of income/assets which meet the guidelines, or to obtain a joint sponsor.

The thing is, I live alone and I earn $70+k yearly and now I live with my wife, which I believe 2 person in household (me and my wife), fix me if I'm wrong and according to

I need at least $25k, but obviously after all taxes, payments etc I still have enough money

 

 

I don't have any significant savings nor investments. But obviously I can prove and I did prove them by sending my recent tax return paper work, letter from my boss, my payment stubs etc 

 

What do I do? I can get a sponsor who earns $350k yearly, no problem here, just wanted to avoid asking this person as  he is busy with his own stuff. I just want to do everything on my own.

 

I'm afraid if I send them the same paper work they will still not accept it for whatever reason.

 

This is not the first problem, first one was when I sent the check for finger print fees and process fees separately and they rejected it, I put the same amount but combined in one check and sent it again, they accepted it.... don't know what is going on.

you make more than enough, instead of tax returns, send tax transcripts from the IRA. send 3 years instead of 1. what does the letter state? and also how many paystubs? did you send 6 months of paystubs?

How long did you have the job and how many pay stubs did you submit.
I agree send transcripts that have all schedules already attached.

Maybe they lost something.
Resend the employment letter, pay stubs (6) and add the transcripts and explain in a letter that you do make over the limit.

With the above mentioned tax transcripts, employer letter and paystubs, don't forget to send the w2 if you didn't.

What did you send?  They're not saying you don't qualify  (Even though it sounds like it) they're saying there wasn't adequate proof of the qualifying income.

I sent my tax returns for 3 years, I'm at my current position since July 2016, employment letter, I believe I sent them around 10 pay stubs, pretty much for every month since I started my job, however I didn't send them my tax transcripts which I'll probably do now.

If you didn't include w2's (and any forms or schedules filed with it) - the tax return is incomplete. This will always result in an rfe.

Sounds like you didn't read the instructions correctly because if you had sent your W2s for the last 3 years, Last 3 Tax returns, 4 to 6 months Pay Stubs and letter of employment from your employer it would have been absolutely clear that you earned way way more than enough.

Yep, I forgot to send W2's and I also got the same RFIE
