It is all on your spouse.. Tell your spouse to study for this interview like he/she is sitting for final exams..lol.

Questions have gotten very personal...like when your last fight? what was the fight about? etc.

Your must answer firmly and confidently. If CO tries to  refute any of his/her answers, he/she must argue and defend his/her answers...

like [ if i say it is yes, it is yes, you are not going to tell me no] attitude.

Hello Nyala, .... Good to hear about your spouse upcoming interview . I have also been waiting for a NOID or a NOIR since August 2015. I did contact my senator . Case still pending. I am hoping to get a response soon.

Do you think your presence at the interview will make a difference? Maybe in some circumstances the petitioner may be allowed access for the CO to interview you both at the consulate . That will make a huge difference.

Each relationship has a thousand different variables and therefore it is impossible to predict what the questions will be.
Perhaps more of the same from last time, perhaps they will focus on the current time or ask questions for the future.

Get into their heads and anticipate all that could pertain to your specific relationship and know the answers.

congrats :dancing:on your second interview but we need to know what basis was the first refusal on ? so we can know what to think n advise thou. but it should be generally around the same questions as the first time again and in depth...   if your kids were approved why the spouse refused ? are the kids born to both of you?

Yes @ IcezMan_Icezlady.   Its a tough wait. My spouse had the interview in August of 2015. A 221g was issued. The consulate didn't return the petitions until 6 months later in Feb of 2016 to the NVC. Nvc in turn waited a month and forwarded it to the USCIS. The USCIS received the returned petition in March of 2016 . The USCIS "touched" my returned petition in October of 2016.

Been waiting ever since . I contacted my senator and the ombudsman lots of times for a response from USCIS.  The USCIS says they are backlogged and returned petitions are not a priority on their list. Sent more evidence and made a trip to my spouse.

Its tough. Hoping for a response from the USCIS

My husband's was also denied in September 2015 and we are still waiting.  His case is back at the embassy after being reaffirmed. The last time it was touched was late April 2017, and it is showing that it is in AP. It's now almost a month later from the last time it was touched and he has not been contacted for a second interview or anything.

But in your case, your case has been reaffirmed and it is now back at the embassy waiting for interview.

If I read @kaygee correctly, their case hasn't been reaffirmed and they havent received NOIR/NOID. Your case is far ahead of them while they are yet to get a NOIR. That is ridiculous.

Absolutely ridiculous @IcezMan_IcezLady . I have a feeling the jurisdiction ones case is also makes a difference in how quick they respond . Nyala's case was at the Nebraska Service Center. They move faster with cases by comparison. Mine is at Vermont . Done everything possible to get a response about my case. Currently waiting for an Ombudsman inquiry . My Senator's office has also been making inquiries .  All they say is they working on it.  I am planning an another info-pass  appointment at the local office.

Any specific  ideas about what causes such delays? ....   background checks or backlogged cases( i presume). I really cannot figure out what is going on .

sorry .. Vermont is the hole of all cases.

If you can, I would suggest you camp at your senator or reps office until they can get some answers for you. I have heard of cases staying there for far too long.

It's either you "harass" your congressman to get some answers for you or you cancel and refile.

Waiting on them doesn't work as much.

Yes, you are correct.  I misread.  Sorry for your hassles with this and your waiting.  It is ridiculous as all say and seemingly nothing we can do about it.  I made an appointment for an info pass after getting an ombudsman involved.  On the very day my info pass was scheduled was the day the case was reaffirmed.  It can't hurt to make an appointment.

I know I am far away in the line but it won't hurt for me to schedule one.
