CBP migration experience

I'll be leaving to take up residence in the USA soon on a CR1 visa. I'll leave on a connecting flight, however I would like persons to share there experience of what the process is like upon reaching CBP. I also have an envelope received from the embassy that I must present to CBP. To be honest, I'm going with mixed feelings as there has been recent flare ups of racist experience in the news.

I agree with Ben&Zian, and I wouldn't believe everything you read in the press.  Use the link they provided  and search for the POE you are entering.  Most of the recent posts I have read here are saying things are business as usual.

Depends on where your POE is.  My husband had his in FLL.  They were very nice.  Things moved quickly ans smoothly.

Remember media loves to hype stories up with dramatics.  Many news reports are opinionated slants, take them with a grain of salt.
