I sometimes wonder if a psychiatrist might be needed more than a lawyer, for us that have been waiting 4 months just for NOA2.

Oh no! Any idea why such a long wait?

No idea at all. Unfortunately. No possibility of finding out either. Apparently they don't even tell the congressmen what's going on. I have my humorous theories. 😁

USCIS' target maximum processing time for fiance i129f's is five months. They've generally managed to maintain this deadline the last two years. Prior to that, it could take up to more than a year.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

9/23/16: Received biometrics appointment letter (day 11)

10/3/16: Biometrics appointment (day 19)

BTW. I hired a lawyer for my case. Not because I didn't think I was up to the task of doing it myself, but because I was going through a divorce at the same time I was starting the immigration process. At the time, I had one lawyer hired to get rid of one woman and another lawyer hired to do the opposite. It was just too much to handle all at once, for me, so I offset some of that by hiring a lawyer.  Now, after spending more time looking at the process myself, it seems very feasible for most anyone to do on their own. The lawyer has caught a few things that I wouldn't have, but then again I have not read all of the guides that are offered here.

What's an example of something s/he caught that you wouldn't have?

For example, in the "how you met" part. We met online, so it's important to call out and show that the online meeting place is not an IMB (International Marriage Broker). I would have missed that, possibly. Then again, if I had set out to do it myself, and read the guides here, maybe not. At the time, I was an emotional wreck, after having been cheated on, ending the previous marriage, etc, I just needed help, and the lawyer gave me just what I needed, at the time.

I've read a lot here and haven't seen that. We also met online so I wouldn't have known to differentiate between social media and an IMB. Now I'm glad I asked you! Anything other ideas??

I think everyone on here is correct,  i personally hired one for piece of mind. I have 3 acquaintances/friends that have used the same firm with 0 issues. So i chose to go that route, although i had basically filled everthing out prior. But they handle everthing incuding aos ap ect with the fee, mailing etc... But do i even think its necessary no. Figure the money i spent could of been a round trip there and hotel for a week etc....i was just trying to avoid the rfe....encase i forgot somethings.  But honestly if you get the wrong person on the wrong day might happen anyways... good luck on your journey!!!!
