South Africa - Packet 3 (K1 Fiance)

Hey guys. My fiance (beneficiary) and I are currently waiting for our application to arrive at the American embassy in Johannesburg. We have only a week or so and really want to hit the ground running when it gets there.

What should we expect Packet 3 to ask us for? I saw an old thread where it's supposedly one, large online form now? But I also heard I'll need to send him an updated "intent to marry" letter. Is that still true? Does it need to be fresh ink signature and I snail mail it over (because booooo, if so)?

Can anyone give any insight as to what we can prepare before we get packet 3? And is there a packet 4?

Thanks!

It will take a little while once your packet arrives for the Consulate to get back with you. They have to open it and then sort through everything then send out an e-mail with instructions.

But, packet 3 will be e-mailed to you. Sorry I not sure if you need an updated intent to marry. But it will included instructions for getting a medical exam and you will also need a your Police Clearance Certificate for South Africa. If you don't have this start on it ASAP.

No Packet 4.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hello,

I remember packet 3 had the list of items to bring to the interview. Had the medical (you have to go to the doctor they tell you to go to) it had what to bring for your birth certificate. It had your requirement for the police certificate.

I went with my husband for the interview. They asked us very casual questions. I think it was because we had known each other for a while. It was how we met, where we are going to live. Interview was 5 mins.
