Hello,

I have completed most of the package for the K-1 visa for my Canadian fiance and I.  I am just wondering about a couple very simple things regarding the forms, that likely don't really even matter.  Here are my questions:

"Parents Birth Place" - I don't know the answer.  Do I put "Unknown", or leave it blank?

"File Number" - Leave blank?

"City And Country" - Would I put Boston, USA?  Sounds odd, usually forms want zip codes and states too?

"Last Name" - Is this where I put my suffix?  Example: Smith Jr.

"Fiance's Address Abroad" - Are they referring to where she lives in Canada? Or where she stays when she visits me?

Lastly, the g-1145 seems to be out of date, is it okay to send in an expired form?  I think I remember reading that it is okay for that form to be outdated...

Thank you!
Wayne

I'm assuming this is for the G-325A. What version are you using (check the date in the lower left corner). With the latest one (dated 04/10/17), the G-325A isn't needed since the added pages on the I-129F cover this info. If using the 12/23/16 edition, the G-325As are needed from both you and your fiancee.

  1. Try to find out. If you can't, then "Unknown" is fine. I wouldn't leave it blank because it may look more like it was missed accidentally.
  2. File Number is your/her A-Number (Alien Registration Number). If you/her have not used a US visa before, this would be blank (or you can put "None"). If you/her have used a US visa, this would be the A-Number from that.
    1. If you're a native-born USC, you don't have one. If she only traveled to the US on her Canadian passport, then she has none. In general, you would know if you had one already. :)
  3. Correct. It is a bit odd, but they don't ask for it on the G-325A.
  4. "Smith, Jr" is fine. It really can go in either first name or last name. But they have accepted it in the last name field for others (with the comma).
  5. I'm assuming this is on the I-129F now. This field is for her current physical address outside the US.
  6. It's not out of date. The OMB Expiration Date is for the OMB only (not you). The edition date is in the lower left corner of the form. The current form is dated 09/15/14 and is still accepted.

Please update your timeline when you send the I-129F, too. It will be going to CSC, not TSC. You will mail the I-129F packet to the Texas lockbox, but they will process it at the California Service Center (CSC).

First name makes more sense actually.  However, on the I-129F it does not let you use commas.  Should I put "Wayne Jr" instead of "Wayne, Jr." since it isn't an option?

Either first or last name should be fine. That'll work.

Good luck.
