Yes, it is called 1-797 notice of action and it is also one year extension of your 2 year green card.  The ROC is so slow now, it might not be done with a year, so you might get another extension of 6 more month, called 18 months extension letter

My conditional green card will expired April 2019. Going on a trip in February.

Question is:

If I file ROC in January, can I still travel using my green card in Feb?

If I wait to file ROC after my trip in February, can I still get in the country with my green card?

Thank you !

You can travel with your card until it's expired even if you file ROC. The only time you can't travel with it is if it's expired before you leave or before you return. If you'll be back before April then you're okay. You can file ROC whenever you are eligible.

I nervously flew home to San Francisco flew via  Dublin. Those who have flown through Dublin will know they have immigration and homeland security there. I needn’t have worried. I gave the lady my card, passport and 18 month extension letter. She seemed to know what she was doing. She asked to see the 12 month one, but only coz I had it to hand.

She asked a few questions and took my photo. No fingerprints this time for some reason.

Anyway she said something was flagged with my bag. She took me to another room where my bag was brought off the plane to be rescanned. The second lady was very nice, couldn’t see anything, didn’t ask me to open. I think it was just a BS excuse to take a second look at me. Anyway within ten minutes I was done and walked out to my connecting flight to SFO. No hassle really, just hoping my next Green Card comes soon. It’s been 8 months. Not holding my breath though!

Global entry won't work without a proper, unexpired green card. You'll go through the regular line.

Question for you. If we are going through the Removal of Conditions process, is there any point in applying for GE?

Seems like the best time to do GE is after getting Citizenship since in most likeliness, we will have both interviews together.

My 18-month extended time is due in June 2019. But I am going to China for 1 month, I will be back in March 2019. Do I need the I-551 stamp before I leave for China?

Well, GE works if you have a valid, unexpired green card, so if you expect adjudication soon, go for it.

I have the same question, but I am going to Vietnam. I already booked my flight ticket and hotel there. I did not get I-551 stamp. I hope everything will be ok.

If your letter doesn't expire before you return you don't need a stamp.

I am sorry if this question is a bad one, but how do you get these extension letters (12 months or 18 months)?

They should be automatic after filing the i751.

But if the extension letter doesn't arrive, better to call USCIS.

Thank you!  I am about to file for the I-751, and as I am reading some of the threads on here, I feel like I do not have nearly as much evidence as everyone else.  Husband owns long before marriage, so we do not rent.  We don't have common health insurance / life insurance... Wife does not drive, yet, so wife in not on auto insurance.  But we both own a car, had a common loan, but was paid off. We have common bank accounts and credit cards.  We can get a couple of letters from neighbors and work testifying for our marriage.  You think not having the above will be a problem?
