Our visa is approved! Now we are ready to move to the US!

Before we go we have a question:
Our flight will be from Tangier, Morocco to the US with a stopover in Lisbon, Portugal. There is a 10-hour layover while we are in Lisbon. We will want to leave the airport and stay at a hotel during our wait. Am I able to get a transit visa with my US visa in hand?

Thank you for your help.

I think you don't need a transit visa for Portugal if you do NOT leave the airport. But since you mentioned staying at a hotel due to the long layover (while having a baby too), I think you will need a visa. You could also consider staying at an airport hotel.

I found some info here:

https://portugal.com/portugal/travel-tips/entering-portugal

But I would recommend contacting, by phone (and email too if you want to have a written proof), the Portuguese consulate in Morocco just to b sure sure.

Good luck! :)

I don't have an answer for your question, but I wanted to say congratulations! I'm sure you guys have been really busy with the baby and the interview and planning to move. I'm just hoping you've documented it all for blog posts! I really enjoy following your updates.

Congratulations and welcome to America!
