Heaven help us if Pence is Pres

I laugh when I see liberals calling for Trump to be assassinated or impeached or different stuff they said before and after the inauguration that basically meant they wanted him gone exactly because of that. It's like Trump might have some loose screws but he's nowhere near as conservative as Pence. Do those people really want somebody more conservative in the white house?

Ironically I've been thinking about that a lot. It might be fair to say that overconfidence and ego made some liberals believe Hillary winning would be an easy feat, nevermind the revolt of those mad about Bernie. I'm not so concerned about that, as I am about conservatives who thought nominating Trump in the first place wouldn't lead us to this point. And to some degree some say that was the plan all along, a way to show the people that a ''stronger conservative person'' or the ''status quo'' was the better choice than an 'unstable rebel'. As I've said in some circles, particular of the evangelical variety, they believe this was all a part of the cosmic plan per say. You have to wonder though why if this was a larger plan on the part of the GOP as some might claim, why go to such extreme measures, instead of just running a better candidate than the clown car we received begin with? Did they think that Pence was straight up unelectable while standing on his own? Pence was not always popular within his own party either for that matter, but I don't believe for a second that he isn't biding his time. There are factions in this administration that are fighting against one another. But the one thing I keep going back to, is that sources these days are not shy about how the GOP really feels about Trump (they barely tolerate him), and that any usefulness he may have had will come to an end eventually. It seems to me a dangerous game at the expense of the people. So do I think that liberals would be more comfortable with a conservative in the White House? No, I think they'd have problems, a lot of problems feeling comfortable... but they may not entirely feel like the very safety of their country would be at stake at the hands of someone completely unstable. People are genuinely concerned and frightened. Pence would bring another level, but in a different way I suspect.

No big wonder, considering the fiasco at the CIA HQ the day after the inauguration.  Putin's getting what he paid for.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories so I don't know about what those "sources" whoever they are are saying, we'll see what happens I guess. I personally don't see Pence doing any better than Trump, or even Clinton for that matter. He is definitely too conservative for me.

If pence gets in, say goodbye to LGBTQ rights, Roe vs Wade will become a war ground, anything else?

So then why not reign in all the protests of Trump?  Do the left wing "progressives" really think that if Trump is removed somehow that Hillary, or some other "progressive" will take his place.  We have a process for replacing POTUS, and right now the Republicans own all the top spots in the line of succession.

I thought this was an interesting article related to this topic.  The headline is a little mis-leading, but the NYTimes does come out and say there was no evidence of any collusion between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.   It does bring up a lot of questions though regarding who authorized the surveillance of a campaign?  Was the Obama DOJ using the FISA court for political purposes?  In my opinion, Trump should de-classify the Flynn conversation with the Russian Ambassador.  I am sure it was as harmless as Obama's hot mic utterances to Medvedev back in 2012.

WASHINGTON — Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.

American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.
