Shocked by EAD Processing Time

Thats very good to know as my local office is swamped for what i understood and adjucation there takes more time than in most of the other local offices  i was having hard time to figure who would handle those 3 petitions  you're great thanks !!

Sounds to me like he gave you information based on I-485 processing rather than EAD/AP. I have been given different information also so now I just sit and wait because nobody seems to know where my case is but yet they tell me that it's being processed 

 

As mentioned, EAD/APs are processed at the NBC and take on average 90 days for approval.

 

Fingers crossed for you it is soon. We all appreciate the waiting is difficult through this process.

He just repeated the non-updated information that's on their website for the NBC... it was updated, as mentioned, 30 November....

Yep folks. It's not called the misinformation line for nothing. The phone people know less about the process than you do and only have access to the same info (that is updated 2.5 months late).  

 

They used to take 8 or 9 months to process the i-129fs at one service center (and 3 weeks at the other) but would update those charts once every 2 months with information that was "as of" 2 months before.  So at any given time,  the information could be 2 to 4 months outdated.  So if your petition was lingering for 12 months,  you couldn't open a service request because the chart says that 8 months is normal (Nevermind that the chart is 4 months out of date) and the folks on the phone could not or would not understand.   Crazy making.

My husband was able to expedite his EAD application because he had a job offer letter.  Have you already had your biometrics appointment?  The next business day after my husband's biometrics appointment, we called USCIS and requested an expedite on the grounds that he had a pending job offer.  After we called, we went to our local representative's office and made an official request for them to follow up with the USCIS request.  This was approved within about 7-10 days, and he had his EAD card in his hands within 2 weeks after we made the initial request.

all interesting reading- we filled mid September NOA received end of Sept, Biometrics done late November in Detroit. Received RFE for more evidence re his income as self employed. NOA that they received was Dec 20th. Still no AP or EAD put in a case update request mid January to be told case reverts back to 0. I thought the AOS would take longer re the RFE but I thought it wouldn't affect the EAD and AP. Desperate to get SSN for my child for health insurance (need it to finalize paperwork). Were not in a hurry for me to work though my AP wold be nice as would like to travel to Niagara Falls. My case numbers are MSC so are all my cases at NBC even though we had bios done in Detroit. I'm so confused now.

Try putting in a service request 75 days after December 30th, should be soon. I just put in mine yesterday and my AOS was received December 7th.

I know many ask for it, BUT an SSN is not a requirement for health insurance. You should be able to put just zeros in place of it (or similar) and update once you have one.

I don't get why people are putting service requests in while they are on their 75th day, honestly. Most of the time people hear they are within current processing times. Takes an officer off someones case to look at your request because you can't wait for another 15 days.
