Ontario GST/HST credit for non-residents

I'm in need of immediate assistance about the Ontario GST/HST credit for non-residents.

 

I've been sitting on this since December, but I have an outstanding credit on my CRA account for the GST/HST credit. I have no idea how to pay it back. I tried setting up a payment through my debit card on the CRA website, but I got to a page where it asked for an "account number". I figured it was my bank account number, but it didn't fit in the text box. I hit the help link next to the box and it said "must be in NRX123456 format". What the hell does that mean? Then, I found out you can make payments through your online banking. I excitedly went to my online banking site and "added a payee" in the bill payment section and selected "CRA NON RSDT ARREAR" or something like that, which I had seen on the CRA website and the "non rsdt" part made sense since I am a non resident. After I selected that payee, it took me to the next section and asked me, like the CRA website, what my account number was. Again, I figured it was my bank account number, but it said it was invalid. So, I hit a dead end. 

 

In short, what does "account number" mean? I'm frustrated to the MAX right now about this. Please help. Thank you.

Call CRA.

You have to enter an agreement with them in order to make payments, CRA will make the account number.
