Hi,

I have filed for AOS, EAD and AP on the 21 of OCT 2016. i have done my biometrics on 12/02/16. received an RFE on the 12th and responded on the 20th of Dec. USCIS has updated my case saying that they have received my response to RFE. till this date i have not heard anything regarding either my work permit or green card.

it feels like its taking forever.

Thanks

Hello Tareq. your case still within the time frame, So don't worry about that. and seems to me you applied for Green Card and Work Permit, so once you receive your green card the work permit will be denied automatically.

Did you receive initial or additional request? Additional pauses your petitions until you have send back a response. Initial is when they reset the 90-day clock, according to the official website and my personal experience at the moment. We have almost the same time-frame. No one can guarantee you a certain time-frame right now. RFE's and how-long-after is really a Russian Roulette with petitioners here. Some get delayed, some reset, some didn't feel a thing.

I'm on my mobile so I can't at the moment, but will later. For now go to my profile, my activity and look for a thread I posted called new EAD rules. The link is in there.

You can put in a service request for your EAD online.

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

Just do the "Case outside of processing time".

Normally the time is 90 days, which you're at 108 days, which is past but not -that- much past, but still you're allowed to put a service request in on EAD/AP at 75 days in.

But as others' said, your GC is within range and not even close to being a worry. Typically USCIS will say it's within normal time frame up until 6 months or so from date of filing OR what ever it says for your local office, which ever one is longer.

Your office is showing that it's processing cases from " May 25, 2016 " which means you'll be considered within "normal range" for your GC for... well a very long time. You won't be considered out of range to them until they're processing Nov 2016, which could be many months from now.
