I don't see why it would have any affect as you're already a permanent resident :) Seems like it's only going to affect people who are in the process of coming over on a visa, such as a K-1, from those selected countries. They'll have to wait until the 90 day ban ends before they can enter on their visas, or at least that's how I understood it.

There has no been a SINGLE order that would deny entry to the US by LEGAL residents!!  My God!!

Just like a couple of days ago there was no refugee/visa hold. Now there is. The article cited before and the current fears don't stem from people with too much imagination and time in their minds. It stems from drawing plausible outcomes to the situation. Trump did make statements during the campaign about "banning muslims" and was expressed in such a broad manner, that it was perfectly reasonable to conclude that even GC holders from those countries could potentially be denied re-entry. While to reasonable people this may seem ridiculous, similar crazy things have happened already. With ease. What everyone here is talking about is caution, uncertainty and fear. Do you think that things are just the same as they were months ago? They are not and this uncertainty, which hopefully will not be confirmed with worse news, is for now, reasonable.

As of now, no. There is however a feeling of uncertainty based on the views of Trump and past statements he has made. Personally, I can't put it past the new administration to enact some sort of ban like this.

Yes, the executive orders, as of now, don't affect current GC holders. There's no certainty though that this won't change in the future. Also, it's not just a 90 days pause. These 90 days are supposed to give the new administration time to come up with a definitive plan of action. That means that after the 90 days they may or may not be able to enter the country/continue processing.

Can not imagine how awful that must feel...being denied entry from a country that made you wait months/years and pay thousands of dollars only to be denied entry into a country that they legally reside in...:(

The EO uses the word "Alien" - anyone who is not a Citizen technically falls into that category. If I was a GC holder from one of those countries listed I would not being going anywhere until there is some clarification.

Valid point on the whole Alien term...I just don't understand how someone who has a GC can be denied entry so easily...Just seems crazy since there are so many background checks, interviews, etc. done in order to progress anywhere in immigration here <_<

I'm really interested in seeing how this plays out because illegal immigration was/is the hot topic, but this is towards legal immigration  I just wonder if it's a temporary test, or if it will eventually redefine U.S immigration and tourism someday... I also wonder if GC holders are actually being denied re-entry or if it's just scare tactics. If people are being denied, that is awful, but I really cannot fathom how the U.S could deny re-entry when someone has been living here for years as a lawful permanent resident with GC (who has been finger printed, interviewed, background checked, etc.) unless it's because technically they're classified as "aliens" :alien: ?

Just a quick Q's folks. I have a friend Somalia born but she's British Citizen lived in the UK majority of her life and came to the US visa via marriage  legally and holds a green card.. is she affected since there is a ban on Somalia? or is it just Somalians citizenship holders.
