Did they give a reason for putting your application into administrative processing? What were the other red flags in your case that you mentioned, if you don't mind me asking?

Case has not yet officially denied as its under Administrative Processing, but consular officer has given verbally reasons for not approving the case....but I'm not ready to give up yet...rather I'm fully ready now to have a big fight to bring my wife over here...

But the courthouse in Ghaziabad has told him that Memorandum of Marriage is unheard of! They do not issue such a thing, what should we do at this point?

The courthouse told him this because there is no such thing in India...In some other countries, they have this thing but not in India...Mostly in Muslim countries...

Dunno dear why USCIS would ask for something that doesn't exit...As I said that officer made a mistake...Officer also asked about wedding pics about religious/traditional marriage when its not necessary that people must have to have religious/traditional marriage. I think you should just submit whatever you can, such as wedding pics at the courthouse or at Arya Samaj mandir..even one would do...and just submit that marriage certificate from Arya Samaj Mandir...Most RFEs are not carefully reviewed as per my observation in last many years...I think you would be just fine...:)

Ok will do!

Apparently, the CO is mistaken and also we could not register our marriage without the document given to us at the temple. The registrar at the court house asked for it as well as our passport size photos, our identifications, checked my visa etc.!

I will keep you posted on what transpires and you do the same please. Best of luck to us all. (F)

I have to chime in, without this forum, I would have gone to pieces. I have found so much valuable information here and was able to file our CR1 application thanks to it. We too have many red flags, but this fabulous forum also has members who share similar stories, making this place a virtual home for us.

Immigration journey is a long and arduous one and most seasoned VJ volunteers tend to offer facts and real talk. I am very thankful for all the support I have received and feel that we all have more in common than differences.

Here is to a great 2017 everyone, may we all unite with our loved ones soon!

Wouldn't hurt to wait a handful of days for the RFE to arrive. You'd know for sure what to respond to at that time.

Remember, it's quality over quantity.

Hello KierenHby,

So going with the RFE we got, would you say that adding copies of my/our boarding passes (the trip after filing our CR1) would be considered quality or quantity?

Thanks bunches :)

I think face-to-face visits are the best piece of evidence!! My wife and I took a vacation over Christmas and I'm hoping to side-load at the NVC if possible.

Perfect! I will include that for sure! When creating our timeline, I included the last visit as our upcoming visit. I think it will show that we followed through with that, and that can only be a good thing.

Also, I am flying out in a few days to India to be with hubby -- will spend 4 weeks with him. Should I also include a one page itinerary of my upcoming trip (like I did when we filed the CR1)?

I won't overcrowd the RFE response, so here is what I had in mind:

1. Copy of the religious marriage certificate from the Arya Samaj Mandir

2. My boarding passes to and from India. (single sheet - duplex printing)

3. Our boarding passes while we traveled together in India (duplex printing w/ number 2)

4. Copy of our hotel receipt, with our names on it (duplex printing)

5. 2-4 pictures taken during our trip

6. A cover letter listing all that is included in the envelope, with touching base on my upcoming 4 week trip.

So all together there will be 4 pages in the RFE response from our end. Is this TMI?

So all together there will be 4 pages in the RFE response from our end. Is this TMI?

Looks like a solid list! Maybe include a scan of your passport pages with stamps showing entry/exit into India. Also, did you have any witnesses at your Mandir wedding or friends come to the courthouse with you? You could get some sworn affidavits from them stating they attended the wedding and/or were present when you applied for the marriage certificate.
