My Green Card arrived today - yay! One month after my arrival here in the US :).

Wonderful news! Wonder why mine is taking so long? Must be my 14-letter surname that is causing problems like it did at the bank. I was told it was too long for their debit cards.

No the $220 fee is in addition to the $325 IV fee that you pay to the NVC.

The online payment page ask only for the Alien Registration Number (A-Number) and the Department of State (DOS) Case ID. It does not ask about my biographic data (name,date of birth,....etc) as mentioned in the USCIS Immigrant Fee handout that I received from the embassy with the sealed envelop. Is this normal? Do I miss something? Please your thoughts about it. Thank you very much

Hey guys, quick update from us:

 

Scan Date: 11/28

Case Complete: 2/16

 

Just waiting for an interview now. The lady on the phone today said that they aren't finished with March yet generally, but couldn't speak specifically about London embassy. Anyone know the most recent date given out? I thought I was already seeing late March dates last week so I'm expecting April and will just be surprised if it's still March.

 

What is the general turn around time for making a medical appointment when you call them? If you call on a Monday can you get it same week? Following week?

Thank you! 14 letters!? Wow! My maiden name was 4 and my married name is 5. However, no one can seem to understand how they are spelled when I say either of them over the phone! I thought my troubles were over once I changed my name, but still the same haha.

Congrats on receiving case complete - you're nearly there now! 

I got CC on November 4th (2016) and got my P4 and interview date on 10th November. I managed to get a December interview which was quite lucky! It was December 19th. When I phoned to book my medical she told me to name a day that was good for me and she'd tell me if there were any available appointments. They didn't seem to be booked up or anything, so you'll probably be able to get one within a week!

Congratulations!!! It's been a long road for you but it's almost over. 

 

I had a similar experience to Goldfinch when it came to booking the medical appointment. It was almost a case of "you tell us when you want to come here". Not like the NHS and "well, I've got a five-minute appointment in 6 weeks time". You could still get a March interview. 

 

Still no GC here... On Sunday I will have been here exactly 2 months and it will also be my birthday. Was hoping for a shiny new GC for my birthday but no such luck.

Called today and March interviews are officially over. So waiting until April now

No worries bcking! You are near the end of the journey! I hope March flies by for you!!! More importantly though I hope you get your date soon!!!!

 

Jon lands on Tuesday... I am a bit nervous with the immigration climate we have going on, but we did everything the right way so I know I don't need to worry... but part of me still worries a bit!!! Fingers crossed he has an easy time going through customs on Tuesday!!!

Any interview dates assigned in April yet for UK People? NOt sure if there are many of us on here waiting for April though.

Interview date April 5th! (CC February 16th, exactly two weeks ago).

 

We are just flying to meet each other today for a few days. Would she be okay to wait and call to schedule her Medical on March 13th when she is back in the UK? Or should she call while we are together in Ecuador before then to schedule?

Congrats on receiving your interview date!

 I would say your s/o would need to book a week in advance for whatever date she wants her medical. They are usually pretty flexible though and you can get in fairly quickly. Just remember it takes about a week after the medical to process the results and send them on to the embassy.
