I think this means that USCIS will start processing your case. When I spoke with USCIS last, thats what the lady explained to me, when a visa becomes available NVC transfers the case back to USCIS for processing.

So I went to the Infopass on 4/4. Was told that my case was in the queue for rescheduling. I asked about the medical exam and whether it would need to be redone. Was told that most likely it would but to wait for appointment date as it expires in a year. I already redid mine so whenever they send the appointment, I'll be ready. I'm expecting in June so let's hope the appointment comes before that. Good luck to everyone.

I wish you get good news soon! :) My interview is in 10 days. I called USCIS to ask about the medical and whether I need to bring a new one and they weren't sure :-/ Which means, I guess, that just to be on the safe side I'll do it. I'm paying $300 to the clinic to fill the form again.

Thank you. All the best with your interview. $300 is a lot for the exam. I paid half of that unless you need it rushed.

So I went to the interview, it was only for about 10 minutes. They didn't see any of the documents (apart from IDs, passports, my husband's green card etc.). They didn't inform us on the decision (said we would be informed by mail within a month) but the day after, the online status was changed to "Case was approved". So I assume I am just waiting for the green card to arrive :)

Here's our timeline if it helps:

April 2015 - Initial application (I-130), Priority date 04/07

August 2015 - I-130 was approved

January 2016 - My PD became current according to "Dates for filing" table so applied for AOS

February 2016 - Biometrics appointment

April 2016 - Received EAD+AP card

January 2017 - PD became current in "Dates for Final Acton" table

March 2017 - Interview scheduled for April

April 2017 - Case (I-485) was approved

Also I'd mention that my EAD expired beginning of April and even though I applied for renewal in January, I never received a new one. I assume because my interview was already scheduled when the EAD expired.

@seme I'm so happy for you. I'm glad your journey is over. You mentioned they didn't ask any documents. didn't they ask for updated I-693 even if it's expired?

Thanks! I wish the best for all of you soon... They didn't ask for the I-693, but when we were about to leave we said "Oh, we have an updated I-693 since the other one might have expired" and the officer took it, looked at it and said "oh ok, doesn't hurt to have a newer one". To be honest it didn't seem like it would have caused an issue, but then again, you never know!

Timeline

Hi all, I had my interview on 6/14 at Baltimore 8am. Sat there for about 30 mins then was called into office by a pleasant 70 year old IO. He told my husband that it was optional to be in the room but he stayed. He asked the yes/no questions and for an updated medical. Luckily I had one. He asked if I was asked to bring it or if I decided to get it on my own. He asked if I had supporting documents to prove our relationship and if I came as a student. He did not want anything else. He asked where we met and about our 12 year old son...I was also 9 months pregnant and could hardly walk. He told us that I was basically approved and I would receive a decision/GC in the mail. He gave the usual letter and I'm still waiting. Status hasn't been updated and I had my baby girl on Father's Day.
