Been a while since I've been on this site. My mom' has already received her green card and will start petitioning my brothers. Congratulations to all those who have already got their approvals and good luck to all who are still in the process. It is a long wait but it's well worth it. :)

Hi guys, my father got approved he had his interview in the Philippines last April 10, his CEAC status changed to Issued last April 16. Until now we haven’t received his passport. I can’t track it in 2go and I’ve been calling the embassy they said to wait. I haven got this problem to my mom’s visa. Her’s came quick.

PANIC MODE!! So my mom's interview is in the morning and while reviewing her documents again I just realized that I sent the wrong DS form..I sent 261 instead of 260. Do you think that would be an issue or would they proceed with the interview and ask her to bring it later if all goes well? 😠😠😠😠 I'm so nervous and made at myself

So I received emails with the list of documents for my parents. so this questions/inquiries are for the DS-260

Now getting confused,

Both the list of documents looks same to me,

now, do both me and (my parents mom and dad) have to provide that list of documents?

I am preparing all the documents, and planning to send it to my parents, so they can submit it. Am I undersatnding it correctly that they have to send those documents?

what documents do my parents have to provide? because the documents they will be sending are based on the cover sheet, and i am providing all the documents, not sure where their documents do come in place.

Also, do I submit my marraige certificate in the document list? or my parent's document list.

very confusing

yes.. each application is separate and stand alone.. so each requires the full list of documents and supporting materials..

Remember, this is now their process.. the email to you is a courtesy only as petitioner.. one packet of all documents required for each of them

What method of filing are they under.? CEAC upload, email or mail? The full documentation for each petition needs to be sent all together..with the cover sheet, but it really doesnt matter if it is emailed from their or your email, or posted from their country or by you in the USA. Either you send the parts you provide to them, or they send their documents to you.

I understand, and thank you for your reply.

Question1 :

They have been asking W2, and tax returns and financial support documents in the packet, assuming i will be submitting those.

but at the same time, they are asking marraige certificate. that should be my marriage certificate right?

Question 2: Just checked the US dept of state website,  AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT (AOS) - I will have to pay Affidavit of support fee,

also, there's IV fee as well, and once paying the fees, i am assuming I'll be able to start the IV Application.  so we pay 2 different fees?

Edit: Just paid fees for my dad's file, the IV fee and Affidavit of support - both came under one fees. and also, when I checked my mom's application, and tried to pay for that, it was also reflecting the payment I just did for my dad's.

Question 3: once I pay all the fees, and start the application, can i submit all the documents online from the website? I am planning to send all documents with my mom who's leaving for India in 2 days. so thought of sending all required documents in person instead of sending via email/mail.

You need to remember that the NVC stage is all about the  beneficiary... the only role you have is as the primary sponsor.., the only documents you must provide is the I864 and required supporting evidence  All other civil documents relate to the beneficiary..  your mothers birth certificate, marraige certificate, police report etc  NOT yours .

Your questions indicate that you haven't read the guide and instructions on the NVC stage ... your questions are all answered in the material provided at the following website

state.gov     search NVC process... read everything, follow every link and drop down menu.. get a better understanding of the process... then come back onto this site and ask any remaining questions..,

Remember, your part has essentially finished with the acceptance of the I130....... it is now your parents visa applications.. so read the information from that perspective

I agree with you, I jumped right away and got confused. I took detailed look over, and understanding the process. Thanks again for all the help. I paid the payment required, and from what I have read, I can upload all the documents through their portal.

The cover sheet they provided have "Signed affidavit of support" list of documents. do i need to sign them or i need to get it notarized? I tried to look for this information but could not find it.

No nothing. All you need to do is mark on the cover sheet the documents status. Ie included not required  etc scan  and upload it as well. It acts as a summary sheet for each group of documents

thansk a ton.

Hello:

Me and my wife are just waiting for the interview at the embassy, my daughter filled for us, and we sent all her financial information plus the financial information of the sponsor.

We received a letter that we need to present at the interview the W2 form from our daughter, but she doesnt have one, she just send the 1040 form, my question is:

is the form 1040 enough for us at the interview ?

Do we need original hand signed I 864  form for interview or scanned copy? Thank!

Will consular interviewer ask for I 864 form again during interview even though we submitted to NVC?
