My 16 year old stepdaughter has decided she wants to move over and live with her father (green card holder) and I (USC) after completing school this year. Does anyone know if there is a benefit to me applying as the USC, though I'm the step parent rather than her dad applying? I work part time and he works full time and therefore makes more of that matters!

You can petition her, takes about a year, so I assume you mean 2017 not 2016!

As stated, faster if you apply than her natural father as an LPR. That would take ~2-3 years; applying through you would take ~1.
