Hello! I just need some encouragement that I can finish this K-1 Visa by myself. I've started on it to some degree but there's just so much to do that it becomes daunting and I feel like it's impossible! I just found this site and it already looks helpful so hopefully it will be! Is there anyone out there who can tell me it's going to be fine and it won't take me weeks to do? I know I can do it I'm just feeling discouraged. Any kind words or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Of course you can!! Why would you be any different from the thousands of couples here on VJ that do it themselves? ;)

If you haven't found it... start here

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

:) Sure it's not a quick thing... it takes a bit of time to gather the documents but difficult? no :)

Good luck and the VJ community will be here to answer any questions for you.

Out of curiosity, what's your story?

Hi and welcome to VisaJourney! :joy:

My fiance and I are both twenty (nineteen at time of filing) and were just approved for a K-1 a couple of weeks ago without any RFEs or issues after doing everything ourselves. If we can do it, I'm sure that you can!!!! :D Which consulate are you going through?

What really helped us at the beginning when we were overwhelmed was watching youtube videos of I-129f packages like this one.

We made our cover page first of all the documents we needed and then went through the list and completed them one at a time in order. It made it more manageable and less intimidating. It may seem small, but it helped us a lot. We finished our package within a few days of making our cover letter. :D

If you have any questions, please feel free to message me. VisaJourney is an awesome site full of people who are here to help! Welcome! :):joy:

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

Read through everything in the guides. Then tackle each item line by line, step by step. I found it easier to print the guide and check off items as I completed them. Read EVERYTHING....the guides, example forms, form downloads, wiki, country portal, forums. The more you educate yourself the better off you will be. I joined VJ 2 months prior to filing and just read everything. It's not that difficult. Just stay organized and informed. You can then always ask questions here.

Be sure to complete a timeline once you get started.

Yes you can do it!

Good Luck!

Follow instructions to the letter. If you don't understand something, ask before you just guess. That's what this site is for, to help you. Read the guide for K1 filing here, and the instructions on the form, and if you don't understand something...ASK :)

Thank you all so much! I feel better already :)

I don't have any red flags but we do have a gay flag ?️‍? haha! I don't know if that makes it any harder. She's from England and I'm from the U.S. We've been together for 2 1/2 years and each have visited each other about 8 times so about 16 trips total. We have loads of pictures and tickets to use as evidence but there's so much I'm not sure which ones to use. I'm not worried about not getting approved because of legitimacy I'm just worried I'll mess something up by filling out a form wrong or not giving the right evidence. I'll be asking more questions soon! Thank you all again for your support! This place is amazing!

To better serve you when answering your question(s) can you complete your VJ Profile. To do so go to the upper right hand corner, select your name and under your name chose "my profile". Next under your picture you choose "Edit my Profile". Under profile settings scroll to the bottom of the page and you see two areas (Profile Information and Immigration Information) that accommodates vital additional information to help others in their reply to your question(s). Without it, the replier may just move on and not give you the answer because they have to "work" to get that needed information. The answer is sometimes predicated on that additional information.

Thank you and good luck on your journey.
