I just got my EAD & AP combo card in the mail.

My in-laws were suggesting me to get a state ID.

And I was wondering if I could request one with a pending AOS & GC application?

Anybody else had this situation?

08/18/2016: Married!
09/21/2016: Sent AOS Package per FedEx Express

09/22/2016 Forms arrived at USCIS office

10/11/2016: Received NOA 1 in mail (forms accepted & processed)
10/26/2016: Biometrics Appointment
10/28/2016: Case is ready for interview & awaiting schedulement
12/08/2016: EAD & AP approved!

12/13/2016: Received EAD & AP combo card!

10/04/2017: Received Appointment letter!

11/02/2017: Interview! Decision cannot yet be made, awaiting final approval.

11/06/2017: Approval letter in mail!

11/13/2017: Greencard arrived!

The first step should be to get the SSN, using your EAD/AP Combo card and your passport documents.

The second step would be to get a State ID/Driver's license based on the SSN and EAD card.

ROC Timeline

 

June 15, 2020: Sent package through USPS

June 18, 2020: Delivered to Arizona PO box

June 23, 2020: Credit Card Debited

June 24, 2020: E notification for case (LIN-Receipt) 

July  15, 2020: Case was updated to show that fingerprints were taken

July 16, 2020 : Official NOA letter dated July 1 was received  

July 20, 2020 : Official fingerprint taken notice dated July 15 was received

March 05, 2021: Status updated to "Card in Production"

March 06, 2021: Status updated to I-751 Approved

I will do that!

Also I was wondering why the work permit includes my fingerprint on the card?

I've seen people reporting that "fingerprint is not available" on their EAD cards.
