Wow, it's looks beautiful there! I only live a ten minute drive away from the coast at the moment, and I think I'll miss that when I move. Driving a few hours to get to the coast isn't at all what I'm used to, but it's not the end of the world ?. We took a trip up to Leavenworth, WA in the summer and it was just stunning! I'm a mountain person, so I was just blown away by how beautiful it is. Some of it reminds me a little bit of the western highlands of Scotland. I'm really looking forward to exploring more, and we're both keen to head over to Vancouver Island BC once I've got my AP or greencard.

Oh, we spent a night in Medford on the way back from San Francisco last year! It was dark when we got there, and pouring rain the next day so I didn't get to see much of it. I absolutely love Portland though, such a funky city! It's funny what a small world it is sometimes ?.

So, I've managed to change my appointment time to 2.30pm on the same day. Which means that I can do it all in one day thankfully, and cut out the cost of an overnight stay. I'm thinking I may stay overnight for my interview, but I'll see once I've booked it. At the moment I'm thinking I'll be much more apprehensive about the actual interview, and don't want added stress about travel!

Which leaves me with one more question for you fine people; would you recommend flying into Heathrow, or Gatwick? Is there much of a difference in terms of their access to central London?

Medford doesn't have much - more the outskirts. Gorgeous area really. I miss the mountains and trees and lakes and oceans :) anyyywaayy lol it is a small world, and I hope you and JFH love living in the PNW

I agree with Heathrow, best for access to all of London.

I stayed at the Covent Gardens Travelodge. It was £70. When i looked at the same hotel for the day of my interview it was £166. Big jump!

For my Embassy interview i stayed at the Americana... Its really close to the Medical place like a 10 min walk. Its closer than the Travelodge I stayed at anyway or Marylebone.

Found it on Trivago when searching close to Mayfair. Its not the most amazing hotel but it close, it gives you a place to rest your head. You can check it at any time but you must leave by 11am,

They also allow you to leave any luggage there for safe keeping whilst your out for the day and allow you to go back at any point in the day and use the facilities.

It would recommend it especially for your interview if you do not want to leave you things in the pharmacy! which by the way future note... You can take a bag into your interview as well as your mobile phone or a tablet (without a keyboard)
