Just out of curiosity how long do you plan to stay on this site after you have received your benefit? I just ask because I see people who are on here after having been a citizen for 5+ years.

Well, my wife and I completed the process with my wife getting her US Citizenship this month. We plan to stay here to help others as those that helped us along our journey. It's called gratitude and maybe paying it forward?

Ok and when you say paying it forward do you mean for receiving the benefit or the help you received from VJ?

Yup. In Hawaii we call it the Aloha Spirit. Doing for others without expecting anything in return. Others might call it karma? We have already been given a great gift by all the help we received from other VJ members along the way.

Aloha, David

I guess I might feel differently because I didnt have to ask too many questions lol. I actually work in an immigration legal clinic as a volunteer document preparer so I can definitely see the desire to want to help others. Very nice all the best to you and yours.

Well, it's been over 7 years since my ex and I broke up and my thoughts of moving to the US disappeared.

I do still cling on to the futile hope of one day getting a B-2 but there's nothing this site can do to help that along.

I mainly hang around as I find the chaotic mess of immigration fascinating, and occasionally getting a chance to help people.

Or at least get them thinking more about what they're doing.

Yes the stories are very interesting. I may browse here and there and if I see a question lingering I might answer but thats about it. The daily perusing etc will probably end.

~~moved to off topic from site discussion. Topic is not about moderation, site issues, bugs, etc. ~~

I stay because I have a few friends and I enjoy helping people. I dont have citizenship and I dont know if I want it. I will decide that by 2025 probably.

My wife got citizenship 3 years ago. But I have been on this forum since 2007 I think. I like to help. Although people have told me that I come across as a know it all, I try not to answer questions that I know nothing about since this is real life and not some game so I don't want to screw anybody's life up.

I'm on a pilot forum and a travel forum too. Helps pass the time at work (in between work tasks).

I'm on a doberman forum. When I was riding all the time I was on a horse forum. I've also been on gaming forums and general area forums to meet new people. Ya know, before they had "meetup.com" lol
